Time Flies....

Holy Batman! I just looked at the calendar and realized that its the last day of February. This realization kinda makes me go in to panic mode. I have to many things to accomplish in the next few weeks. I really should update that to-do list I have...

Mr. Sailor and I attended a Prepared Childbirth class this past Saturday. It was interesting to say the least. It was nice to be able to learn  some of the Hospitals procedures and protocols. In typical fashion the class sported the one completely obnoxious guy that acted as if we were in 6th grade health class. He kept cracking dumb jokes and trying to be funny. I really feel for the instructor since she must see it on a regular basis. Obnoxious guy aside, the class was informative and it was nice for me to see the L&D and Maternity Wards (Mr. Sailor sees them all the time.... ).

Sunday was spent being lazy. I just didnt have it in me to be productive in any way other than playing The Sims 3 on Playstation3. Although I did manage to start washing the diaper inserts that I have done. I'm currently waiting on a box of supplies so I can make some more soakers and covers. From what I've read there has been some issues with the company. Hopefully I'll have my order soon.

If you follow my Facebook page, then you might have seen that I'm going to start offering children's Items. Ive been working on patterns and researching the regulations. Its all slightly mind blowing, but some of it is insightful. I hope to get a few more designs and patterns worked up soon.

Happy Monday!

Weekly Venom Update- 35 Weeks

We're in the home stretch. We currently only have about 33 days until Venom makes her arrival. That means Mummy here doesnt have much time to finish all her projects. The quilt is basically done and I'm just finishing the handstitching on it. I have a Boppy cover and crib skirt to still make, Diapers to prep, and clothes to put away.
I had my lactation class last Wednesday. It was very informative even though I didn't care for the instructor much. Some of the info I did know from the internet and books that I've read. I'm really looking forward to the Prepared Childbirth class Mr. Sailor and I have this Saturday. It goes over labor and basics. Also if Labor and Delivery isn't busy we get a tour. Mr. Sailor has already seen the L&D ward since he has to give shots to the new mommies but I really want to see it. Venom and I are starting out biweekly doctor's visits, we went yesterday and everything is great. She's measuring right were she needs to be. My doctor did inform me that because of how big Mr. Sailor was as a newborn and how big I was, she expects Little Miss Venom to be like 8lbs or more... I don't know about you, but really do you think I'm going to be able to carry a baby that big. this is just an estimate and I hope for my Vain little brain that its wrong. I already can't look at the scale when there, it makes me so sad.... But I digress.

Any hoo. Everything else is the same as last week. Since we're getting down to the wire, I thought I'd share the Pool like again. If you haven't made your guesses yet, please go there and do so. Its free and painless. plus it amuses me to look at the guesses.... Clicky here to guess

Navy Life- An Amazing Surprise.

How was everyone's weekend? I hope that everyone enjoyed it. I had a great weekend and a wonderful surprise. While I've been here a year exactly today, I haven't made that many friends. The few that I have are mostly Active Duty, but their amazing people. Mr. Sailor and I had our baby showers insanely early on in our Pregnancy since we knew there wasn't a safe way for us to travel back to Indiana in the middle of there winter. (By safe I mean, we're not crazy and going to risk being stuck there when snow hits. Also, the thought of a 12+ hour car ride doesn't sound appealing.) Any who, Mr. Sailor felt that I needed something more, so he took it upon himself to get together with our friends and throw me a surprise baby shower this past weekend. Let me say that they got me good. Poor Mr. Sailor failed to get a pic of my face when I opened the door to see my friends standing there with balloons and cupcakes in hand. Needless to say it made me feel very very loved. Its nice to get unexpected surprises. The shower was very untraditional, We played Kinect instead of shower games and had pizza instead of finger sandwiches. Everyone had a great time and I am so grateful for such amazing friends.

A Rant of sorts- What Condition do I have??

I have a huge pet peeve, being told I can not do something. As a child I was raised to be independent and self reliant. I hardly bitch when I'm sick or hurt. I know what needs to be done and how long it will take me to get said task done. In general, I really don't like being told no. Where there's a will there's a way. Fast forward to now, here I am almost 9 months pregnant, still felling great and having a great pregnancy. I realize that my generation is quite different than others. So let me see if I can put this nicely. I'M PREGNANT, NOT CRIPPLED.  I have a Tiny human growing in me, not a life threatening tumor. So, please enlighten me, what condition do I have? Do I have cancer and I not know it? Did my Doctor call you to inform you instead of me? NO? I thought not. I am more than capable of doing things for myself and I don't need to be babied. I have shit I have to get done (I.E. Cleaning the house, running errands, taking care of the animals, and running my business) I can't rely on waiting for my husband to do it all.(Not to mention, I don't think Mr. Sailor could handle my sewing machines) It make take me a bit longer but I will get it done. Done rush me and you better not tell me not to do it. I know what I can and can not handle. Its not like I'm going to go bench press 300lbs on a whim. (now it I regularly did so, that would be another thing completely) I do know that a basket of laundry, grocery and etc.. are not going to hurt me.

As for the Cat litter restriction, while Yes, Mr. Sailor cleans out the cats. BUT I did some investigating, The parasite that doctors are worried about when it comes to cat shit, lives in it and must be ingested. I don't know about you but eating cat poop is not on my list of yummy things to eat. that being said I would have to become so paranoid about what I was touching and whether other people were risking putting me in danger... I'd would have spent this whole pregnancy in a bio-hazard suit and a bubble. There is no reason to be that paranoid, just wash your hands and your good. Believe me, Mr. Sailor and I are probably helping Dial stay in the black... OHHH and that same parasite can live in sandwich meat and can affect everyone not just pregnant women..... HA!

The moral of this story, Don't you dare say "well in your Condition, blah, blah, blah." I'll probably end up putting you in your place and telling you to F@#$ Off.

Weekly Venom Update- 34 weeks

So another week has come and Gone. I can't wait for this adventure to be over. Don't get me wrong, I've had a great pregnancy. I'm just ready to meet my little girl already but I know its best she stay in there a little longer. From what I've read online she should be rapidly gaining weight and length. She should be about the size of a Cantaloupe. Today, err well tonight, I have my lactation class. Then next Saturday I have a Labor class. I'm looking forward to both. These past few days have been bad on my allergies. Since the seasons are changing again paired with pregnancy induced fluid production, I cant seem to clear my head of any and all sinus congestion. I go to the doctor next Wednesday so I plan on talking to her about it then. my zyrtec just isn't cutting it these days.

Venom is still active as ever. Its fun to lay back and watch my stomach twitch and ripple from her movements. She received her care package from her grandma the other day. I loved the senimentalness of it. She now owns an Alf  (you know the late 80's/90's alien show, if not click here) just like her Poppa did as a child. He even ordered all 4 season of the show off of Amazon so that they can watch it together. Also included in her package was a new outfit, more Hello Kitty material for me to make her some more dresses and diapers, a hair bow from Her Aunt and the Eric Carle book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, she even got a stuffed Very Hungry Caterpillar. I loved Eric Carle book as a little girl. ( Well, I actually just liked books in general and I still do.) My not so little sister also sent her a package of clothes. I've washed almost everything of her's so far. I just have to wash her bedding and Diapers (which I'm still waiting on my Kawaii covers. They should be here tomorrow at the latest.) Then I need to sort through all of it and start packing bags. >.<

See no belly button or stretch marks.
There haven't been to many changes since last week. I'm sure my bump has grown slightly but I don't notice it. My belly button is still slightly flat and my stomach is still stretch mark free thanks to my not so secret weapon. (No, Palmers is not paying me to endorse there lotion, it just works for me and I like it.) Its seriously amazing stuff. This is my second bottle.

Weekly Venom Update- 33 weeks

33 weeks and miserible... :(
the quilt that is awaiting binding
First, I want to take a minute to say Hello and Welcome to my wonderful new readers. Thank you for taking time to read my ramblings. Secondly, I'm just a little late getting this posted. I've had more of an urge to sew or clean than to be on the computer. I spent Monday night cleaning my studio and organizing patterns.... I have 57+ patterns, those are just the commerical patterns. I probably have about another 20 that I've drafted myself. Tuesday was spent finishing the quilt blocks for Venom's quilt and Wednesday was spent quilting it. I still have to add the binding and label. Yesterday was spent relaxing and cutting out a prom dress. This morning has been spent cleaning my livingroom/ dining room/ Kitchen and yelling at my cats that keep messing it up. Venom's kitten Harley likes to throw her toys about and swim in her water bowl (which she is way to big for). While Mr. Sailor's cat would rather track litter all over our wood floors. I've swept the floor 3+ times now... I'm about over sweeping the floor.

Me Monday: New things in the works

I've been quite again only because Mr. Sailor was on Leave last week and I was trying to spend time with hi since our Venom free time is coming to an end. I also spent the week cleaning the house so I can happily say that I a all caught up on all chores. I'm happy about the prospect of sewing all week. This morning was spent running errands so that this evening I can sit and work on finishing Venom's quilt that I've put on the back burner. I have lots of things to show you guys but it keeps raining and I cant seem to get decent pictures. As soon as I can get the photos new things will be shared and listed. My one major goal this year is to work harder at S.B. Designs13. Ok well I need to go prep some purses. Stay tuned for the new things that are coming this week.
